Who is Frankie Martin?
Frankie Martin was a fixture of our local community. Born on November 15, 1945, Frank J. Martin was a beloved and longtime Cottleville resident known for his charitable nature and fun personality. He was employed by St. Joseph Church and School where he was a member. He worked for more than 50 years in maintenance at St. Joseph, he was a knight in the Knights of Columbus, and neighbors recall he was a frequent customer at local favorites Bemo's and Jo's.
In March 2020, Frankie Martin passed away at the age of 74. Today, we honor Frankie with his own garden built right where he used to live. We revived his former home and made it our centerpiece, The House. Our vision for the garden, which lies on his previous property and farm, is to foster a place where the whole community can come together and celebrate daily.
The City of Cottleville declared June 2, Frankie Martin Day, which we will honor annually.
